Description
The upstairs home features three bedrooms, including a loft retreat with mountain views, a mini refrigerator, microwave, streaming TV, and plenty of storage. The open-concept living area is filled with natural light from oversized windows and provides a welcoming space to cook, gather, and relax after a day on the mountain. The downstairs apartment offers two additional queen bedrooms, its own full kitchen, and a comfortable living room, giving larger groups room to spread out while still staying together.
The chalet is located within walking distance of Alyeska Resort, restaurants, breweries, shops, and many of Girdwood's favorite attractions. The free community shuttle also makes it easy to explore the village without needing to drive.
This property has a story of its own. Originally built in 1964, the cabin was raised in 1978, when the lower level became a gift shop serving visitors traveling through Girdwood. It later became the town's bike shop before being transformed into today's two-bedroom apartment. The original Alaska-themed mural, featuring a beloved local malamute, remains as a tribute to the building's history.
Shared coin-operated laundry is available on-site, and the chalet is pet friendly with prior approval. Early check-in and late check-out may be available for a fee with advance notice.
As our guest, you'll also receive an exclusive 10% discount with Alaska Travel Adventures. While their current tours operate primarily in Southeast Alaska, the discount is a great benefit if your Alaska itinerary includes destinations such as Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, or Sitka.
