  • Q. How will I get the keys to access my unit?

    A. All of our properties have lockboxes at the entry door. Make sure you get your lock box code before arriving at the property for a smooth check-in.

  • Q. Do you have enhanced cleaning procedures?

    A. Yes, in addition to the professional cleaning, we now sanitize highly touched surfaces.

  • Q. Do you have bicycles for rent?

    A. In some locations we do. Ask Kelli or Scott if you are interested. The cost is $10 per day for the length of your trip or a $75 flat fee.

  • Q. Do you provide airport transportation?

    A. Sorry, we don’t. Taxi, Uber, and Lyft are available in all communities except Alyeska.

  • Q. Is it a problem to check in late? I have a late flight or ferry.

    A. You can check-in yourself at your leisure after 4pm using the key inside the lock box.

  • Q. How can I get to the property?

    A. Taxi, Uber, and Lyft are available in all communities except Alyeska.

  • Q. Can I get a discount for a long stay?

    A. In most cases you can. Contact Kelli for a quote for your desired dates and location.

  • Q. How do I get the tour discount?

    A. Go to www.AlaskaTravelAdventures.com and look at the day tours. Choose any tour that you would like to participate in and choose one of the available time slots. Contact Kelli and she will collect payment and book the tour for you.

  • Q. Can I get a refund if I cancel my reservation?

    A. The cancellation policy is specified on your reservation. Typically, a cancellation fee will apply. You can get a refund if you purchase our “Cancel for Any Reason” insurance.

  • Q. Can I have a late check-out?

    A. We can arrange a late checkout for a $50.00 fee. Please make arrangements 24 hours in advance.

  • Q. Can I check-in early?

    A. We can arrange for guaranteed early check-in by 2pm latest for a $50.00 fee. Your property will be prioritized. We will try to meet your target time and promise you can have it by 2pm. Or you can text us the day of arrival for a readiness status update and you can check-in whenever it is confirmed ready. Please don’t go to the property earlier than approved.

  • Q. Where can I park?

    A. Our properties all have parking. Your “Check-In Details” document will be emailed to you about 5 days prior to arrival and will have parking instructions.

  • Q. Where do I put the trash?

    A. Your “Check-In Details” document will be emailed to you about 5 days prior to arrival and will have instructions regarding trash disposal.

  • Q. Where is the laundry facilities?

    A. Your “Check-In Details” document will be emailed to you about 5 days prior to arrival and will have laundry instructions.

  • Q. Can I get local TV channels?

    A. No, we only have streaming capabilities. You can log into your own apps but we don’t have cable. (exceptions are Johney’s Place properties: Precision Lodge, Suite Rock, Shangri-La, Biker’s Bungalow, Lucky Duck and Baked Alaska).

  • Q. How far away is this property from popular sites/areas?

ANCHORAGE/ALYESKA

This property, located on the bus route, is conveniently situated in South Anchorage off of Jewel Lake and Dimond, within 1-2 miles of many restaurants, activities, and shopping. Points of interest include:

Airport – 3 miles

Dimond Center Mall (including ice rink, bowling, movie theater, restaurants and department stores) – 2 miles

Costco – 1.6 miles

Downtown – 5 miles

Kincaid Park – 3.7 miles

Alyeska is 35 miles from Anchorage Airport. There are shuttle services that can be arranged, or you can take the Alaska Railroad to and from Girdwood. Once you get there this location can’t be beat! The free Glacier City Shuttle can take you everywhere including the train station, pretty much hourly and you can get on/off across the street from the property.  Once checked in, walk almost anywhere are take the shuttle: Alyeska Resort, Glacier Brewing Company, Girdwood Townsite, Double Musky, Cross Country fields, Churches, Schools, Daylodge, park, library, etc….

Mendenhall Glacier – 2 miles. The closest bus stop is 1 mile away from the Glacier. There is a paved bike path the entire way, as well as a trail the entire way.

Duck Creek Market Convenience Store – about a 15-minute walk. There is a bus stop there.

Super Bear Grocery Store – 1.7 miles

University of Alaska – 4.5 miles. Bike paths the entire way. Enjoy trails all the way around Auke Lake where this lakeside campus is situated. There is a bus stop there.

Ferry Terminal – 6 miles. The bus stop is 1.5 miles from the ferry.

Downtown – 10.3 miles.

There is a bus stop on the Valley Boulevard side for buses going north (toward the glacier) and on the Mendenhaven side for buses going South (toward downtown). There is parking in front of your apartment.

Ferry Terminal – 6 miles, there is no bus stop at the ferry terminal, so a cab, rental car, or Uber/Lyft would be helpful.

Mendenhall Glacier –3 miles. The closest bus stop is one mile away from the glacier, there is both a gravel trail and a paved bike path extending the entire way to the glacier from the property.

Swimming Pool, Library, and Thunder Mountain High School – 1.5 miles

The location is very convenient, centrally located between the two main activity centers for Juneau. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the street. Go to https://juneaucapitaltransit.org to get the bus schedule. Taxi, Uber, and Lyft are also available in Juneau.

Downtown – 3 miles. You can walk or take the bus.

Airport – 5.5 miles. There is a bus stop two blocks from the airport.

Ferry Terminal – 1 mile, there is no bus stop at the ferry terminal, so a cab, rental car, or Uber/Lyft would be helpful.

Mendenhall Glacier – 12 miles There is no bus stop at the glacier, and the closest one is 1 mile away.

Within Walking Distance: There are lots of trails within close walking distance. The hospital has a cafeteria, very reasonably priced. There is a coffee shop on the corner, and a small restaurant in the training center on Salmon Creek Lane, just a 10-minute walk away. The Gold Creek Salmon Bake, featured on Top Chef, is open May through September and is also less than a 10-minute walk.
