FOREST FAIR

Walk to this event from your rental! The Girdwood Forest Fair is an arts and crafts, food and musical festival attracting thousands of people to the town each July. At the festival, they can dance, shop and flaunt their finest tie-dye threads.The festival is also famous for its colorful signs proclaiming, “No Dogs, No Politics, no Religious Orders.”

GOLD MEDAL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

This week-long Juneau event is a great gathering opportunity for Southeast Alaska residents and visitors. This annual basketball tournament attracts former high school stars, college players, and local legends. It's an economic boon for Juneau as people join from all over for cultural, social, and shopping convenience.

FUR RONDY

Since 1935, Fur Rendezvous – known locally as Fur Rondy – has proudly represented the pioneering spirit of Alaskans. In addition to more than 20 official cultural and sporting activities, the Anchorage community hosts nearly 50 Rondy Round Town events offering wacky winter fun for all ages. The event ends with a parade of dog teams and mushers at the beginning of the Iditarod race.

ALASKA FOLK FESTIVAL

It's the oldest and largest festival of its kind. The annual, 7-day event encourages non professional and professional musicians to participate. The event pays only one guest artist. All other performers are there for their own enjoyment and chance for a 15 min. main stage performance set. There are no admission charges for any performances or actuates associated with this festival.

JUNEAU GOLD RUSH DAYS

Juneau Gold Rush Days is a free, action-packed celebration consisting of local fair foods, booths of arts and crafts, and activities for the children. Contestants compete in mining specific events such as jackleg drilling, spike driving, hand mucking, and logging events, like axe throwing, speed climbing, hand bucking, and log rolling.
